Level AP: only for courses authorized through the College Board’s AP Course Audit; otherwise use Honors and list the exam score separately. P earns credit but is left out of the GPA; IP marks courses still in progress.
TranscriptKit runs entirely in your browser. Names, birthdays, courses and grades are never sent to us or anyone else, and we don’t store them. The only thing our server ever receives is an email address, and only if you choose to join the Pro waitlist.
Homeschool name, address, the student’s details and graduation date. Leave out anything optional.
Title, subject, level, grade and credits. Quick-add chips fill in common courses for each grade.
Totals, GPAs and the grading scale are laid out on one letter-size page, ready to print or save as a PDF.
Plain-English answers to the questions every homeschool parent hits around 10th grade.
The free builder makes a complete transcript. Pro will add the paperwork around it.

A second page for activities, service hours, jobs and awards.
Your own weighting rules and percentage-to-letter conversion for each course.

Yes. The builder, GPA and credit math, grading scale and printing are free with no account and no watermark on the transcript. We plan to charge for Pro extras (course descriptions, more students and drafts, extra layouts and sections), which launch in mid-November.
Many colleges accept parent-issued transcripts; requirements vary, so check with each school and your state’s homeschool laws. TranscriptKit is a tool for making the document: it doesn’t certify, accredit or approve anything. You sign it as the parent or school administrator.
No. Everything you type stays in your browser. It is never sent to our server or anyone else, and we don’t store it. Your draft is saved in this browser’s local storage on this device; use Export to keep a backup file.
Each grade’s points on the 4.0 scale are multiplied by the course credits, added up and divided by the total graded credits. The weighted GPA adds a bonus to passing grades in Honors (+0.5), AP and dual enrollment (+1.0) courses by default; you can change the bonuses. P (pass) courses count toward credits but not GPA. GPAs are rounded to two decimals.
Usually a full-year course: the traditional Carnegie unit is about 120 hours, and many homeschool guides use 120 to 180 hours. A semester course is usually half a credit. Requirements vary, so use one rule consistently.
Click "Print / Save as PDF" and pick "Save as PDF" as the printer. The transcript is laid out for US Letter paper; a typical four-year load fits on one page.
Yes. Click "Export file" to download your draft as a small JSON file, then "Import file" on the other computer. Nothing is synced through us.
